# Han character comparison data

The cross-region character comparison database is derived from generated data
in the Hanji project. The Hanji application code is MIT licensed. Individual
derived fields retain their upstream terms:

- Regional character mappings and Japanese old forms: OpenCC, Apache-2.0.
- Regional glyph-equivalence groups: Adobe Source Han Sans/Serif CMap data,
  SIL Open Font License 1.1.
- Macao-to-region glyph-equivalence review: Hei_MSCS 1.200 outlines rendered
  alongside pinned Noto Sans CJK Simplified Chinese, Hong Kong, Traditional
  Chinese, Japanese, and Korean faces. Reviewed matches reuse the corresponding
  Source Han glyph group; unmatched Macao ideographic variation sequences remain
  distinct. Font revisions, hashes, and all 140 decisions are recorded in the
  source review manifest.
- Macao standard repertoire and encoded sequences: the Macao SAR Government
  *Macao Supplementary Character Set — 2022* character table and Unicode's
  registered MSARG Ideographic Variation Database collection. The pinned
  manifest contains 443 standard entries and 522 accepted encodings, including
  154 registered MSARG variation sequences.
- Macao official supplemental glyphs: Macao SAR Government Hei_MSCS version
  1.200, Copyright 2024 DynaComware, SIL Open Font License 1.1. Required outlines
  and the variation cmap are preserved under the independently named
  `KyouStudy Macao Han` family.
- General Macao comparison glyphs: Noto Sans CJK Traditional Chinese, with the
  documented Korean-component exception for U+54B2 from Noto Sans CJK Korean.
  Both are Copyright 2014–2021 Adobe and distributed under the SIL Open Font
  License 1.1. No Hong Kong font outlines are imported.
- Macao stroke counts: the corresponding reviewed, regional Unihan-derived
  stroke counts. Each form records its chosen count and source region.
- Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese on/kun, and Korean readings: Unicode Unihan,
  Unicode License v3.
- Korean cross-code-point variants: Unicode IRG N2200, Unicode License v3.

KyouStudy does not import Hanji's frequency ranks, standard-list tiers, or list
membership fields. The complete Hanji data-source notice, upstream MIT license,
and full SIL Open Font License are preserved with the source materials.
